In the autumn of 2008 E-Semble in close cooperation with BSS Holland created a 3D model of the business location of AFS at Schiphol using aerial photography and laser scanning technology. Besides the development of the virtual 3D environment they have also made corresponding virtual objects such as tanks, special fire fighting vehicles and staff of the police and a passenger bus of Connexxion.
The 3-D model with the corresponding objects can be used in the simulation program XVR. In the virtual business location different security measures can be added, moved or deleted, such as fences and CCTV cameras. Once a security design is built into the virtual location, an incident can be simulated followed by an exercise. The virtual incident scenarios can also be used for multidisciplinary exercises with all emergency services involved.
